We would like you to invite your club to provide teams and availability for the coming season in the BVA. This year we aim to run the following competitions:
- Men’s
- Mixed
- Women’s
- Juniors
The number of divisions in each competition will depend on the level of interest from the clubs entering. We hope to receive sufficient entries to create at least two leagues in each competition. Following our club interest form earlier this year, there was appetite for a juniors league so we are happy to run one provided there are enough entries (six is the minimum).
The deadline for entries is August 14th 5pm. We also need your team and venue availability as your hard working volunteers have set aside their valuable time on August 15th to begin the process of sorting out the league structure and drafting the fixtures. We kindly ask that you enter teams you are certain about entering and let us know about others that you’re considering or working on by emailing us via our normal email address or via the contact form. The sooner and more accurate we receive these entries, the better! The BVA committee will be meeting on August 14th in the evening to approve the league structure.
The league entry fee is likely to be £80 per team (subject to our committee budget meeting next week) and new teams to the league are also required to provide a goodwill deposit of £20 to the BVA, in addition to their league entry fee. The potential increase of £20 per team covers VolleyZone charges, as agreed at the AGM. Following the BVA AGM in May 2026, there were several rule changes in the league. We are currently finalising the changes and will share rules shortly, but they will be as agreed at the AGM.
What do you need to do?
- All clubs must be affiliated to Volleyball England. If you have not already done so, please register your club and ensure all details on VolleyZone are up to date, with particular attention paid to those with roles in your club. We will be using the details in VZ to communicate with clubs!
